Queen Victoria's Proclamation

The proclamation issued by Queen Victoria for the people of India is known as Queen's Proclamation of 1858. The royal audience convened by Lord Canning on 1 November 1858 to read Queen Victoria's proclamation at Allahabad Durbar. This proclamation is known as the Magna Carta of the Indian people. The act that caused the East India Company to lose power is Government of India Act of 1858. British Queen Victoria became the ruler of India as a result of the 1858 revolt. The Revolt of 1857 led to the complete fall of the Mughal rule.
