Lodi Dynasty (1451-1526)

Bahlul Lodi (1451–1489), Sikandar Lodi (1489–1517) and Ibrahim Lodi (1517–1526) were the major rulers of this dynasty. In 1451, Bahlul Lodi founded the Lodi dynasty by defeating the last Sayyid king, Alauddin Alam Shah. Sikandar Lodi was the most powerful of the Lodi sultans. He founded Agra. The last king of the Lodi dynasty, Ibrahim Lodi, was defeated in the First Battle of Panipat at Panipat and Babur established the Mughal Empire, ending the Sultanate in India. It was the fifth and final ruling monarch of the Delhi Sultanate before the rise of the Mughal Empire.
