Kerala State Cooperative Bank

Kerala State Co-operative Bank Limited, branded as Kerala Bank, is an Indian co-operative bank set up by the Kerala Government. The cooperative banking sector in Kerala operates in a three-tier system. Kerala Bank's intention is to make it two-tier. For that, Prof. M.S. Sriram Committee is formed by the Kerala Government to conduct a detailed study on the formation of Kerala Bank. A Task Force was formed to implement the formation of Kerala Bank on a practical level. Kerala Bank (Kerala Cooperative Bank) was formed in November 29, 2019 by merging 13 district cooperative banks with the Kerala State Cooperative Bank. Malappuram District Cooperative Bank is not included in the Kerala Cooperative Bank. Kerala Bank's headquarters are in Thiruvananthapuram. It is an institution with scheduled status. Primary cooperative societies are at the lowest level in the three-tier system. After merge of 13 district cooperative banks, only Primary cooperative societies and the State Cooperative Bank will be in the two-tier system of cooperative banking in Kerala.
