Indian Post Payments Bank
India Post Payments Banks (IPPB) were launched in 1st September 2018, centered around post offices. It is a banking institution operating under the Central Postal Department. Once these banks become fully operational, the number of bank branches in the country will cross 2,95,000. With this, India will become the country with the highest number of bank branches in the world. Its aim is to provide banking services to all villages. India Post Payments Bank can also provide all the services provided by commercial banks. The first cities where India Post Payments Bank was established on a pilot basis is Ranchi and Raipur. The headquarters of India Post Payments Bank is at New Delhi. The official tagline of Indian Post Payments Bank is "Aapka Bank Aapke Dwaar". The Post Office Savings Bank comes under the Union List (List-I) of the 7th Schedule in the Indian Constitution. New system introduced by India Post Payments Bank instead of ATM/Debit Card is QR Card. Savings scheme launched in schools in collaboration with post offices as part of the National Savings Scheme is Sanchayika.
