Kerala State Development Corporation for Christian Converts from Scheduled Castes and the Recommended Communities Ltd

In accordance with the Indian Companies Act of 1956, the Kerala State Development Corporation for Christian Converts from Scheduled Castes and the Recommended Communities was founded in 1980. In order to improve the general quality of life of Christian converts from Scheduled Castes and members of the Recommended Communities, the Corporation is required to support their social, educational, cultural, and economic advancement. Share capital contributions and yearly subsidies from the Kerala government make up the majority of its financial resources. The Corporation carries out a variety of welfare and development initiatives, such as loans for the acquisition of agricultural land, self-employment endeavors, home building and renovation, marriage support, assistance with agriculture and related activities, small business development, and funding for higher education. These loan programs were used by 548 beneficiaries in the fiscal year 2024–2025. In addition to these loan programs, the Corporation has been offering grants and scholarships to students from the target groups through a number of initiatives, such as incentive grants, "Spot the Talent," career counseling programs, and coaching support for competitive exams like the PSC, Civil Service, and Medical Engineering Entrance. To help the underprivileged students in this community, the Corporation launched a lower-interest foreign education loan scheme.

The Corporation disbursed educational scholarships totaling Rs. 42,32,900 to 1,180 qualified students throughout the state for the fiscal year 2024–2025, as well as a Medical Engineering Entrance Coaching Grant from the Corporation's profit for that year. In order to help the social and economic advancement of the youth in its target communities, the Corporation is putting in place job-oriented training programs. Under the program, 71 young people received training from Keltron and the Government Polytechnics in 2024–2025.  The Corporation was given Rs 4.00 crore for a number of programs in 2024–2025, and the biggest amount spent during that time was Rs 18.37 crore. The issuance of new loans, financed by loan repayments received throughout the year, is responsible for the excess expenditure over the authorized outlay in 2024–2025.
