Department of Information Technology (IT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Future Technologies, Kerala

Kerala is to become a knowledge society with sustainable economic growth, social harmony, and a good standard of living for all, according to the government's aim. The government believes that it is its duty to realize this vision by taking proactive steps to hasten the transformation of the state into a knowledge society. In accordance with the nation's democratic traditions, the government will make sure that every segment of society is involved in this process of change and will take deliberate, constructive measures to ensure that the marginalized sections of society are included.

In order to prevent the less privileged groups from being marginalized during the change process, the government will also take any necessary steps to promote the deliberate involvement of the digitally privileged groups. ICT will be used by the government to guaranty transparency, effectiveness, and high-quality services for state residents. In order to revitalize and strengthen the state's primary, secondary, and tertiary economic sectors, the government will encourage relevant ICT applications.

The government will work to raise the ICT sector's employment potential, boost productivity and efficiency, maximize resource utilization, and raise people's standard of living through the use of ICT in all sectors. The government will do everything in its power to create the infrastructure needed for the state's rapid ICT adoption and growth, including, but not limited to, infrastructure for the IT industry, high-speed communication facilities, human resource development, and ICT access for all segments of the populace.

The government will work to make the state more conducive to economic growth and investments in the ICT, ITES, and knowledge-based industry sectors. By doing this, the government hopes to fully utilize these new industries' potential to create steady jobs, generate foreign exchange, and encourage long-term investments.

Kerala's highly educated and competent labor force is acknowledged by the government as a strategic differentiator as an investment location. It will keep making significant investments in projects and programs to maintain this advantage. Kerala would become the source of highly qualified labor for the knowledge-based sector, according to the government. The government understands that free software offers a special chance to create a knowledge society that is genuinely equitable. The government will make every effort to create free software and will promote and require its proper use in all ICT projects.
