Anamudi Peak

Anamudi, the highest peak in South India, is located within Eravikulam National Park. It stands at a height of 2,695 meters. Eravikulam is generally a high-altitude region; even its lowest point lies 920 meters above sea level. Apart from Anamudi, there are several other peaks here, including Iravikulam Mala, Umayamala, Karinkombu Mala, Sambamala, Bheemamala, Kolukkan Mala, Erumamala, Kumarikkal Mala, Silumala, Kaattu Mala, Perumalmala, Thirumudi, Rajamala, and Naykolli Mala.

Agasthyarkoodam

After Anamudi, Agasthyamala in Thiruvananthapuram district is another major peak in Kerala. It is situated within the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, a region rich in evergreen forests, semi-evergreen forests, grasslands, and dry forests. The area features numerous rocky outcrops and peaks. Agasthyarkoodam, rising 1,868 meters above sea level, is the highest among them. A treasure trove of biodiversity, the region abounds in rare medicinal plants and orchids. The Neyyar River originates from Agasthyamala. Agasthyarkoodam is also home to Kerala's only biological park.
