Kerala Environment

Kerala's environment is managed through the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Kerala Government. The department oversees the state's rich biodiversity, climate resilience policies, and natural resource conservation. Environment Department was formed on 2006 delinking from the Science, Technology and Environment Department. The Kerala State Pollution Control Board and the Kerala State Biodiversity Boards comes under the administrative control of this Department.

Kerala State Pollution Control Board

Kerala State Pollution Control Board is a body of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Kerala. The board is charged with enforcing laws related to environmental protection. The headquarters of Pollution Board is Thiruvananthapuram.

Kerala State Biodiversity Board

Kerala State Biodiversity Board is an autonomous body of the State Government. Its headquarters is at Thiruvananthapuram. The board functions under the State Biodiversity Act 2008 and the Biodiversity Act of 2002. Kerala is one of the 12 states of india make laws to prevent and control water pollution.
